My wife and I toured three Montessori schools in the area last year for my two pre-school aged children. I was attracted to one school and my wife was adamant about Innovative. She had a gut feeling that this was the school for our children because she came away so well informed. One school year later, I can say my wife was right. This school and it's faculty have nothing but the best interest of the child at heart. I had no idea how impressive Montessori education was. I never appreciated my preschool children the way I do now. I look at them differently, treat them more respectfully and understand the importance of the family and school relationship. The one-on-one support we have received has changed me as a person. This school is a unique and special. My children are thriving, are independent and responsible. The detail and effort my kid's teachers put into their classroom environments and portfolios keep us amazed. Meet any teacher at this school and you will know what I am talking about.

I am so glad I found this small Montessori school for my son. I am just amazed at the quality of the staff. They really know what they are talking about! Perfect staff, perfect classrooms, perfect school! On the weekends, if we happen to pass by the school, I have heard my son say, "that's my school, I love it there!" or "Mommy can I go say hi my teacher is there, I see her car". Trust me, this Montessori school is amazing! You will not be disappointed.

Guaranteed the Best! When I found out Munir and Kathryn took over this school on facebook, I immediately enrolled my daughter here. These two are the cream of the crop. Definitely, the best Montessori can offer. If you can get your child in Kathryn's classroom, I promise this will be the best gift you can ever give your child. Kathryn was my instructor when I took my AMS Montessori teacher training in 1999.

When I first looked for pre-school for my then 18 month old, I looked at many different schools. By chance, I visited Innovative Montessori School (IMS). I was driving by and decided to check it out. It was the best decision I ever made. As soon as I walked in the school, the atmosphere was exactly what I was looking for in a school. The head of the school, Munir Shivji, was very informative about the school and Montessori teachings. On my second visit, I met the teacher. As soon as my clinging daughter met her, it was love at first sight.

The commitment to excellence through Montessori teachings is important to the school. There have been many interactive parent workshops for Montessori teachings at home for language skills and mathematical skills. The teachers provide most of the information for the workshops detailing how our children are learning on a daily basis. Since my daughter has attended IMS, she has transitioned from toddler to primary. The transition was great since all the teachers at IMS are well trained and love each and every child. The teachers and the assistants are the reason the school is excellent.

As soon as my second daughter was born, it was not even questioned whether she would attend IMS or not. I knew the faculty and the ownership. There was no better setting to place my infant child. One year later, I have no regrets. She is in the transition stage from infant to toddler with experiences she would not have with a transitional daycare.

As part of the PTO of IMS, the organization has provided a foundation of parent involvement. The staff and parents work together to provide a family oriented environment. The school is a second home for most of these children. We want to make sure they enjoy learning and continue the education process. In addition to the PTO efforts, the school hosts many events such as a Winter Show in December, Donuts for Dads, Chinese New Year, Diwali, Cinco De Mayo and Eid celebrations, and many other events scheduled. IMS is proud of the cultural diversity by celebrating Chinese New Year, Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanza, and International Festival Day. I could go on and on about the parent involvement and the programs that IMS conducts. The school truly believes in diversity and involving the parents in the children’s learning.

When I tell people about the school my daughters attend, they ask me “Why do you have your kids in a school in Katy when you live in Sugar Land?” My answer is always “Innovative Montessori is the best school I can put my kids in that I feel comfortable about the teaching, the care, and the faculty. Why would we go anywhere else?”
